Posted: April 2008 International students representing 27 different countries held a talent show on the last day of the Annual Rotary District 5950/5960 Convention held on April 25-27. Students danced, played musical instruments, sang, and even performed a satire.

Posted: April 2008 Chisago Lakes Rotary Members Jim McCarville and John Pechman attended the Annual Rotary District 5950/5960 Convention held up in Alexandria, Minnesota the weekend of April 25-27, 2008. John Pechman is pictured with Mikhail, one of the exchange students from Russia who is being sponsored by the Plymouth Rotary Club. Mikhail is a junior in high school and is looking forward to attending his first prom. |
Posted: August 2007 The Chisago Lakes Rotary Club presented a $4,200 check to "Baby Blanket," a non-profit group from St. Bridget’s Catholic Church of Lindstrom. This organization provides baby blankets, car seats, and life skills to parents in need. Proceeds from the Rotary’s golfing fundraiser held earlier this summer were used to make this donation. |
Posted: March 2007 Minnesota Twins World Series MVP Jack Morris stopped by a Chisago Lakes Rotary Club meeting to take a few pointers from the 2006-07 Club President John Pechman (pictured right) on his fast ball. When Mr. Morris was asked at the meeting what was going through his mind pitching in Game 7 of the World Series, he said he kept thinking of the Minnesota Vikings and how they lost four super bowls and never won one. He was not going to let that happen. |
Posted: October 2006 On behalf of the Chisago Lakes Rotary Club, 2006-07 President John Pechman presented an $800 check to "Baby Blanket," a non-profit group from St. Bridget’s Catholic Church of Lindstrom. This organization provides baby blankets, car seats, and life skills to parents in need. Proceeds from the Rotary’s golfing fundraiser held earlier this summer were used to make this donation. The Club had initially given them $3,000 from the golfing fundraiser, but upon final payment of all associated expenses, there were additional dollars to donate. |
Posted: September 2006 The Chisago Lakes Rotary Club held the grand opening of "Rotary Park" in August 2006. Approval was received in 2003 from the Chisago City Council for the addition of this nature park. The park is located adjacent to the "Shores of School Lake" residential development. Amenities include a natural woodchip trail, a picnic shelter, and beautiful views of School Lake. |
